Testimonials
From the Teachers
The Wenatchee World has proven a valuable resource in my journalism classes at Wenatchee High School. The newspaper provides immediate reinforcement of news and events and journalistic techniques. I am thankful for the Newspaper In Education program that provides this resource for my classroom.
- Logan H. Aimone, Wenatchee High School
Thanks so much for publishing those stories in the Kid Scoop. The students will be very excited tomorrow, if they haven't already seen last night's paper. Thanks for making a difference in these kids' lives. What a great opportunity for them to be recognized and encouraged in the importance of writing.
- Lori Scott, Lincoln Elementary
The Wenatchee World printed a timely article on preadolescent teen smoking. My students were studying the human respiratory system and this article related directly to the controversial smoking issue. This is only one example of why our classroom continues to subscribe to a weekly newspaper edition.
- Susan Radek, Omak Middle School
From the Students
I use to hate to write, but now I love it. It is my favorite thing to do.
- Holly, Wilson Creek Elementary
Thank you for the newspapers that we have received in class this year. I enjoyed reading the stories of things that happened around our community. I also enjoyed the discussions we had about those events/stories.
- Marie, Wenatchee School District
From the Sponsors
As a private Youth Foundation of NCW, one of our goals is to assist young people in learning the importance of reading and understanding the current affairs, both personal and business. Through our support, and the students reading The Wenatchee World in class, we feel this is being accomplished.

I always felt newspapers were a great tool to teach current events and encourage reading. The NIE program promotes your business, plus it does a service to schools. It's a win/win deal.
