In the interest of providing photographs that are truthful, honest
and objective and in an attempt to document society as a matter of
historical record, The Wenatchee World maintains that the guiding
principle of its photo coverage is accuracy. As journalists, we
believe that credibility is our greatest asset and needs to be
closely guarded.
Our goal is to photograph live, spontaneous events, whether spot
news, general news, sports, or features. Only feature portraits and
illustrations may be posed by the photographer and never in such a
way as to mislead the reader into thinking the photo is a candid,
unposed photograph. Illustration photographs will have "Photo
Illustration" in the credit line.
Any computer correction of a photograph not used in an illustration
may include only those techniques commonly accepted in traditional
chemical darkrooms including dodging or burning in selected areas of
a photo without changing its content, and correction of technical
defects such as scratches, dust marks and color shifts caused by
mixed lighting sources.
