The People and Places column runs every Friday in the business section. Information submitted by noon Wednesday usually runs in the upcoming column, space permitting. The news must be business-related and, when applicable, include the date and location of the event. We cannot accept items over the phone, and information more than a month old will not be used. Appropriate items include new employees, conferences, workshops or seminars, certifications, sales awards and promotions.
